Anyway... the story continues...
The roofing iron covering the kitchen was cut & removed.
Kim then built a pitched roof frame from the inner end of the kitchen/dining room all the way out to the open end.
The kids play in their toy boat (which sits on their trampoline to create that realistic feeling of movement). Note the outboard motor, a $2 garage sale find that really works.
Ivy loves to swing!
Insulation was placed on the plywood.
& finally the new roof.
Nothing like some company while you're on the loo. What a lovely sight, TWO toilet trained toddlers!

Then he lined it with plywood. This will eventually be covered in a product called bamboo ply.

Toni, the house is looking fantastic! It has such character already. I can't wait to see the finished masterpiece. You have all done so well, and what a fantastic husband you have to be able to bulid you a house. The kids are growing up and look so happy. Keep up the good work. The house looks absolutely amazing,you must be so happy with everything, I have been reading your blog since you began writing and I love coming here and seeing how much progress you are making. You have been able to achieve so much, when you already had more than enough on your hands. It is lovely to see how your blended family all bonds together, it is both incredible and amazing that you and Kim have such a good relationship with Mario. It sets such a fantastic example to all your children on how all relationships should be. I cannot wait to keep watching the progress, have you put anything in the kitchen yet??? Hi Toni, We like many others it seems have been keeping an eye on the progress of your house, and the ongoing problems with little Finn; your achievments are wonderful in the light of the many trials and tribulations you have been through to this stage. The house looks terrific. And Ivy Paige is a real sweetie.

You're so lucky to have a husband like Kim. My husband led our home renovation too. In fact, he coordinated well with the employees of the company specializing on roofing, Northern Virginia services. Also, I'm happy with the newly-installed siding. Chantilly, VA is really the best place for our family. Thanks for sharing the interesting post, Toni! I'm so inspired.
